Dear Mr. Labagnoy,
I have some things to be grateful about with being an MRLRC reviewer.  First of all, it helped boost my sagging self-esteem.  I graduated in 1993 and have held nursing jobs in the country after graduation which were mostly poorly compensated or not at all.  I passed CGFNS in 1995 (I reviewed in a not so known review center in Manila)  with the hope that I could save my family from our financial difficulties.  Unfortunately, I was one of those whose application in the US did not work out then.  It was truly devastating.  Not so long after this, I went to work as a domestic helper for 6 years in HK.  I have to admit that I was feeling inferior compared to my fellow nurses due to my work background.  I came back to the Phil. last April  with the hope of reviving my nursing career.  I went immediately to Baguio in time to attend the critical course review on April 23, 2005.

My first day at MRLRC was overwhelming.  I missed the 1 month course review and I was alone and did not know anybody.  Then there was the pre-test thing which rattled me.  I did not know that we would be taking lots of exams.  Most of all, there was the incessant talking of Mr. Labagnoy like a person with mania repeating many times, "Agsurat ka, kung gusto mong makapasa."  To be honest, I was wondering what "America, Bravo, Chicago and Dallas" was all about.  It was only later that I figured out.   Good for me, I am an Ilocano so somehow I was not left behind with his jargons.  My fingers were aching trying to jot down everything he has to say.  Everybody was complaining of tingling sensation in the hands and calluses in their fingers due to fast and prolonged writing.

I was lucky that I have been awarded medals.  Best of all, I was awarded full scholarship for the final coaching review which costs P8,000.  It was unexpected.  I was ready to leave Baguio to Laoag for my self-review for the NCLEX-RN because my budget for the review was alloted only for a month.  For so long a time, it was only then that I felt that I  achieved something really big and I was recognized for it.  I thank Mr. Labagnoy for being effective in motivating and recognizing its students for their efforts

I took NCLEX on August 24 in Hong Kong.  I went there by myself and at my own expense.  I kept telling myself "this is gonna be it,  I need to pass or else I am dead meat." I came back to the Phil to prepare for the NCLEX-RN and I have almost run out of my savings because of it.  I was done with the NCLEX-RN in 1.5 hours and there were no more test items after the 75th.  There was a feeling of shock because it was all too soon. The exam could last for 5 hours with 265 items.  I was the 5th to enter the room and was the 2nd to leave.  I was asking myself, "Was that it?Am I really done?"  I raised my hand and the proctor escorted me out of the room.  I was told that the result will be mailed in 4-6 weeks.

Some questions were easy but the choices were too close.  I always ended up choosing between 2.  Most of my questions were on prioritization.  NCLEX does test your analytical ability.  MRLRC helps you to be trained in concentrating and choosing the right answer what with the daily and numerous drills.  My advice to those who want to pass NCLEX is to be clear about your goal and make an effort to achieve that goal.  If it is needed, go the extra mile to read and understand what you feel you are not sure about. While I worked as a domestic helper in Hong Kong I made a commitment to  spend my very limited spare time reading about nursing.  I myself am amazed with the results.  Who would ever think I could strike back as I did.

Second, I would like to thank MRLRC for helping me pass NCLEX-RN.  I received the letter from California Board of Nursing a few days ago and I passed.  I was elated.  I know it is still a long way to go but I am relieved that I am done with all the required exams.

Lastly, the MRLRC experience allowed me to gain good friends.  Its student diversity, young and old, from different places in the country and different work background is truly remarkable.  We did have good times together and hopefully the relationship would be lifelong.  As far as I know, most of them passed CGFNS and came back to MRLRC for their NCLEX-RN review.

To MRLRC, thank you very much.  More power!

Sincerely,

Cecile S. Felix

Amongst all the things i heard sir marlon said in repetition, his line "THEY WANT U 2 FAIL BUT I WANT U 2 PASS" really struck me. it was like an opener for me and so I said to myself, HEY work harder bec all the gold medals u get are not an assurance to make it w/ CG. But truly, if u r wiser and have the proper funding, MRLRC is the best review center to go for CGFNS. I am giving this testimonial for two reasons first, to thank MR. LABAGNOY for his ability 2 PREDICT the questions! 2nd is to attest the truth behind everything he says! Mind you, word for word came out &during the 1st part, since i got huge time waiting for others to finish,i tried counting the numbers w/c was not part of what he has given.i cld only recall 37 out of 150.Dont you think it's high time for others out there to decide that it's now their call whether to become part of our family or pursue to their quest in getting the certificate the long way?Once again, SIR MARLON THANK U

MRLRC...... i became part of the family nung nag enroll ako 4 my cgfns... grabe stressful ang review, ang bilis mag verbal ni uncle marlon.... imagined ang breal namin lunch lng 45mins... but i learned alot in this institution, not only academically but also self discipline and diskarte sa buhay.... I passed the cgfns july 2004, and i went back to review again for my nclex... i passed also the nclex,,,, tnx to uncle marlon... take cre of your helthh sir... ur really part in the lives of so many nurses....

The first day of the formal review classes.... A lot of new faces form different schools, name it from North to South and East to West. MRLRC has it. Let me tell you why this review center is flocked with nurses. Well, it has the best reviewers in town from UST and UP, good facilities, a library and SUPPORTIVE STAFF.

Annie Rose Guerrero,   SLU - Baguio City

The strong foundation the MRLRC lays, molds every reviewees to become better nurse of our generation and equips them with better views. All the challenges and struggles proved to be worthwhile. For MRLRC made things possible. All of these. I can attest for I hold unto pride for belonging to this family. The foundation they have set for me is the Tradition of Excellence which the center will always carry on.

Gilbert F. Chuson, PCC Baguio - NCLEX RN

The system and style of review in the MRLRC  is one of a kind of strategy of handling reviewees. They have a very conductive place for learning and at the same time provides an enjoyable view overlooking the mountainous site of Baguio City.

Khrisellanor D. Cauan, Dr. Carlos Lanting College - Manila

The MRLRC is the only review center I know of that has a very good structure and organization. A warm welcome, an endless motivation, giving the recognition and a reviewer offering himself to extend assistance.

Charo Bermudez, Far Eastern University - Manila

MRLRC comes from the Arabic work BETAQA or other words such as 'taz' or "KERA" meaning TICKET. A ticket to America, Bronx New York, California or Dallas Texas. The causative organism is called AMARLEOUOUS LABAGNOUOUS which is prevalent in Asian countries particularly in the Philippines and affects those aged 21 years old and above, causing an outbreak in about 15% of the entire population: "The MRLRC Syndrome."

Roselle A. Flores, PCC - Baguio City

The MRLRC pushed me hard to become the BEST I can be. The kind of training we receive daily is very RIGID and NO TIME is wasted. The pressure exerted on us by the review school enables us to bring out the BEST in us.

Ian Marie de Peralta, SLU - Baguio City

The MRLRC helped me push against the ROCKS: to break the seal in order to pass the CGFNS examination.

                                                                                               Lany V. Beral, SLU

Marlon Ray Labagnoy Review Center has always spoken of and spelled out success since its birth sometime in July 1989. As such, it has already produced an enormous number of learned, competent and successful men and women in the nursing profession who are now employed internationally.

Gladys Sheila T. Medina, SLU - Baguio City

The MRLRC Pyramid of Success nurtures not only your mental being, but also your spiritual, psychological, social and physical being as well.

Albina O. Anayasan, SLU - Baguio City

Now I know why most nurses come to Baguio and take their review classes in the MRLRC. Why most of the nurses who pass the CGFNS come from here, the only answer is the personalized service of the review school and having such a supportive president.

Cheryll P. Santos, Family Clinic College - Manila

The MRLRC gives the review in a step by step fashion through the pyramid of success. It's very effective.

                                                                                           Vicky C. Toralba, CEU

Uncle Marlon, you do nothing out of selfish ambition, but in humility, you serve the poor fellow Filipino nurses like me and help us achieve our dreams through the pyramid of success as a stepping stone.

Irene H. Alejo, SLU - Anao, Tarlac

The MRLRC can boast of its highly qualified and highly competent manpower resources. Its reviewers from UST have the ability to teach. They possess the qualifications and none of the disqualifications of a competent reviewer.

Daphnie Asuncion, Lorma - San Fabian, Pangasinan

Uncle Marlon never allowed our blood glucose to set below 70mg/dl. because of his sensitive w3ays of knowing things... food is one of our basic needs, I'll never forget those palatable rice cakes and breads, with an orange juice to combat hypoglycemia during the self- Assess Test.

                                                                                                 Rona Gueyam, SLU

 Elvinbo

The Marlon Ray Labagnoy Review Center is centered to its legacy in promoting its Tradition of Excellence in nurturing nurses to  grow and excel to their fullest. The MRLRC is the only review center who caters to the needs of all Filipino Nurses coming from different places from our country and abroad. Through this continuing legacy, they can learn the best test-taking skills and walking through the exam confident.

"Passing the CGFNS is like going through the hole of a needle..." It's a good thing I've taken the first essential step -- to enroll to a quality review center. I've chosen MRLRC, as recommended by many, as my cohort to aid me to this crucial test. From the
intensive review sessions we went through everyday, from sunrise to sunset... the numerous simulated exams... the kilometric verbals we have to catch up... the daily sleep deprivation from reading piles of review materials...(I even considered it a luxury if I get to doze off for 3 hrs.) Whew! It's so really stressful to be a reviewees of this
institution! But all of these were all worth it! Though I still suffer from carpal tunnel
syndrome, which of course, is Uncle Marlon to be blamed. :) I passed the
CGFNS at first take even I graduated from Nursing 11 years ago! Thanks MRLRC!
